Hi all,
As competition season heats up we are finding ourselves increasingly busy!
Towards the end of August we competed in the first IJS event of the season here in the UK. 4 competitors competed the compulsory and original dance events and 3 went on to the free dance. We finished the event in second place and it proved to be quite a mixed bag of emotions and results for the competition. On the not so positive end we had a bad free dance section with one fall and another lift going down. We were obviously disappointed especially as we had greatly improved this section before the competition. Despite that the feedback session we had with the referee and technical specialists post competition was extremely favourable and they commented on the obvious improvements we had made since the national championships. We have been told of what to improve on and we are looking forward to performing next week here in Sheffield.
Chrissy's mum, Deb, returns to the states tomorrow and so Chrissy will be living alone. It's going to be a challenge for her I am sure, but I hope we can help each other as she adjusts to the excitement of single life! Fortunately it is not too long before Deb returns for a visit in November along with Chrissy's grandparents which will be fun!
I hope you are all well and currently enjoying being tucked up in bed. I read that the sun won't rise today until 6:35 a.m. so I will ensure that my warm up off ice starts just that little later so I can enjoy it!
We’ll report back next month with more competition reviews!
Mark :)
